Christopher Schoelen

Christopher Schoelen is an internationally known and award-winning guitarist who recently obtained his D.M.A. degree in classical guitar performance from the University of South Carolina. He also holds a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk. Christopher has performed throughout the U.S., has been a judge and given master classes in various festivals, and has won numerous awards including a first prize award from New York’s Golden Era of Romantic Music competition where he gave his debut performance at Carnegie Hall in 2016. During his Master’s degree, and with the guidance of maestro Fisk, Christopher recorded and produced his debut album titled “Anima – The Music of Spain and Italy” for guitar. This project pays tribute to a three-year-long and life-changing adventure during which Christopher made Seville, Spain his home. While abroad he enrolled at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica Manuel Castillo, studied under the tutelage of Spanish guitarist, Francisco Bernier, and performed throughout Spain, France, and Italy.
